Suver is nestled right off of Highway 99. While it's not technically a town anymore, the residents like to think so. Suver is about ten miles south of Monmouth, OR. It is mainly a farming community, producing grass seed, wheat, hay, and even beans.
Directions Suver are always described as "right at the blinking light".
Chris Engal(left) and Dell Weston(right) load up some fertilizer at Wilbur-Ellis on Suver Rd. Both are part of the Suver community and work at Wilbur-Ellis. Wilbur-Ellis is a fertilizer plant, where many of the local farmers purchase fertilizer for their crops.
Chelsea Evans, 19, is a freshman at Chemeketa Community College, she enjoys spending her time outdoors and 4-wheeling in the Oregon rain out in Suver on the weekends.
This 'town' of Suver, Oregon, was named for my pioneer family. The Suvers settled there just prior to the birth of my grandfather, Greenberry Suver (he was named by the Indians of the area). My early childhood was in Monmouth, and I loved to stop at the combination country store / gas station. All that was left of the family farm was the old barn. There was a grain elevator, and the old schoolhouse was still there in the 50's. I'm 70 now, and am SO glad to see these pictures!! Carol Suver Richeson
