Horses

12 year old Appaloosa, DS Whoa That Impulse(Skippy), takes a break this winter from his show horse career and enjoys time out in the pasture with his buddy, Smokey the pony.
Herbie, normally a quiet show horse, gets to experience some practice roping, as his owner Bailey Savannah prepares for the Oregon High School Equestrian Teams first competition in February.

Free Shoot

It was a gorgeous day in Lincoln City, OR on Thursday November 10, 2011. The sun was out, no wind and no rain. All together is rare for the Oregon Coast. From early afternoon to sunset, the colors and photo opportunities kept changing.



As the sun slowly sets, the colors of the sky and ocean keep changing.

Suver

Suver is nestled right off of Highway 99. While it's not technically a town anymore, the residents like to think so. Suver is about ten miles south of Monmouth, OR. It is mainly a farming community, producing grass seed, wheat, hay, and even beans.

Directions Suver are always described as "right at the blinking light".
Chris Engal(left) and Dell Weston(right) load up some fertilizer at Wilbur-Ellis on Suver Rd. Both are part of the Suver community and work at Wilbur-Ellis. Wilbur-Ellis is a fertilizer plant, where many of the local farmers purchase fertilizer for their crops.
Chelsea Evans, 19, is a freshman at Chemeketa Community College, she enjoys spending her time outdoors and 4-wheeling in the Oregon rain out in Suver on the weekends.

Perrydale Harvest Carnival

Perrydale Harvest Carnival was from 4pm-7pm on Thursday night in Amity, OR in the school's old gym. Elementary through High School students were everywhere to be found. It was a fun filled night full of games and candy.

Taylor Kennedy, junior at Perrydale, worked at the face painting booth Thursday night. Dayna Mulkey is a sixth grader, she enjoyed having her face painted for the carnival.

Environmental Portrait


Bailey Savannah, 15, is a sophomore at Perrydale High School in Amity, Oregon. She enjoys riding and competing with her 6 year old Paint horse, Herbie. Bailey and Herbie compete in OHSET(Oregon High School Equestrian Teams) and at local shows. She has owned Herbie for about 3 years and hopes to qualify for the OHSET competition this year.
